Sat 21-Feb-04 - Rob's Birthday Bowling!
Old Reigatians are having another ten pin bowling evening, details are:

Venue: AMF Purley (On the A23, just past the fire station)
Time: 7.15pm (Don't be late)
Cost: £12.00 - Pay on the night, but you MUST turn up. In addition, you must bring Rob a birthday card (home-made is fine)
Who can come? ORHC members and partners. No Internationals or County players.
How do we get there? There is a train from Redhill to Purley, leaving at 6.36pm. The return train is very late indeed. Otherwise you could drive.
What do you get for your money? Three games, ropey meal, and the hire of those rather sexy shoes.
What if I can't make up my mind? You'll lose out. There are 18 places on a strictly first come-first serve basis. Tell Rob as soon as you can whether you can play, so that he'll have time to book further lanes while they are available.
How do I book? Speak to Rob Evans asap. Home phone no is 01737 823114, and his email address is rob@rkevans.fsnet.co.uk
What if I'm no good? You'll think you're a bowling superstar after you've seen Buster Grimes try to bowl after a beer or two!
What culinary delights can I experience? Fries and salad, and a choice of: Cheese and garlic mushroom lattice fingers, cheese/chilli burger, Scampi, jacket potato. You may want to eat before coming out.
If you don't bring Rob a card, then a beer will be fine for him..

Dear all,

Finlay James Mills was born at 9.35am on Thursday 5th February, weighing in at 8lbs 6oz.

Both Sandra and baby Finlay are doing very well, and were at home last night recovering from a hectic day, where Sebastian and Conor were delighted to meet their baby brother for the first time.

Sat 10-Jan-04 - Reece breaks his duck..
Stevie Reece, 1st XI skipper, scored his very first club goal on Saturday. Uncharacteristically, playing out of position on the left wing, he swept the ball home after some intricate work and selfless play by Tom Wainwright.

A naturally jubilant Stevie was buying the beers at the bar in The Garland.

"Don’t hold you breath for the next one!" suggested Stevie, later.

No he isn't really 50 years old, but instead after his score in the the Club's victory in the SOHL Cup he has reached an even greater watershed.

Danny's tally of goals for the ORs 1st team has now reached 50 goals. He's only the 5th player in 1st team history to make that total.

So a big congratulations to Danny Moss!

PS. Stevie would like to know how soon you can score the next 50?

Sat 22-Nov-03 - Dave's Curry Night - the report
A select band, drawn from all club teams gathered on Saturday night at the Garland for the ORHC curry night. After moderate consumption of ale those present repaired to the Gulaab Garden for a thoroughly decent curry, uneventful save for the shreiking of a local witch in the far corner of the restaurant.

After eating it was back across the road for further lubrication (only one of our number being unable to make the return journey) and the entertainment value of jokes ancient and modern from top comedy duo Evans and Grist. A mass stagger to the taxi office completed the evening.

Regards

Dave Neumann.

Sat 13-Sep-03 - Tour of Denbies Vineyard - the report
Seven of us (20% of the club!) had a great afternoon at Denbies last month. All were pleasantly surprised by the expert way in which the tour was operated - right down to the provision of wonderful weather.

The wine tasting (whilst limited) was very good and of surprising quality (look out for the 2003 vintage which promises to be excellent). Any lack of alcohol during the tour was more than made up for in the evening when a select few descended on Dorking; we even managed to squeeze in a curry at the end of the night.

Thanks to all those who came along and helped to make it such an enjoyable afternoon/evening.
